SPACE INSIGHT SCIENTIST APPOINTED NEW DEPUTY CHAIR OF IADC MEASUREMENTS WORKING GROUP

Phil Herridge has been appointed the new deputy chair of Working Group 1 on Measurements of the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC). The IADC is an intergovernmental forum which advises the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space on space debris issues. The deputy chair of each IADC working group serves for two years, followed by another two years as chair. Phil Herridge is deputy to Fabrizio Piergentili of Agenzia Spaziale Italiana.

Phil Herridge is the second representative of the United Kingdom to serve this Working Group in this way. A scientist from Space Insight has been included by the UK Space Agency in its delegation to the IADC every year since the company's formation because of Space Insight's expertise in surveying and tracking man-made objects in Earth orbit.
